Frequently Asked Questions

Library

How long does it take to get a library card?

Our Librarian or one of the Friends of the Library will be able to supply you with a new library card the moment you apply and we enter it into the system. Your first Library card is free.  Replacements for lost cards are $5.00. Patrons with addresses in Creek County are eligible to receive a Mounds Public Library card.

Are electronic books available?

YES!!! With your Mounds Public Library card, you are eligible for free access to Hoopla's broad collection of online books, movies, audio books, and more. Stop by the library for a demonstration and more information.

Does the Library have an online catalog that I can browse?

To browse our Library's Catalog on LIBIB, please follow this link:  https://www.libib.com/u/moundslibrary. Please understand that new books are added frequently. The best way to check is to stop in or call the library at 918-827-3949 during open hours.

Does the Library have a Friends of the Library Group?

Yes.  The Friends of the Mounds Public Library are a great group of people who are very active in our Library.  We meet once per month usually on the second Thursday evening. Dues are $5 per calendar year.  Background checks are required for all members who will be staffing the library part-time or who might be working around minor children. We are associated with the Friends of Libraries in Oklahoma (FOLIO). Email "folmounds@gmail.com" to join or for more information.

Does the Library Have Books for Sale?

The new "book sale" room in the Library is for the benefit of the Friends of the Mounds Public Library. 100% of the funds from these "sales" are directly fed back to the library in the form of project support (such as the cost of the three new laptop computers, aquarium upkeep, book boxes for remote communities, special events, and the renovation of the book sale room). The book sale room is now open on an honor-pay basis during library hours. A mailbox-type deposit box is mounted in the room. The suggested donation for hardback books is $1 each, for paperback books is $0.50 each, and for children's books is $0.50 each. We are not doing special "by-the-bag" pricing at this time. Please do your best to deposit exact change; other monetary doantions are also welcome. The Librarian may have a small amount of cash on-hand, but will not be able to break larger bills for small transactions.

Book stock will be rotated every 1-2 months depending on donation stock on-hand. Some books are placed on consignment with Better World Books. Books unsold by the rotation date will be donated to the Sapulpa Salvation Army Recreation Center.
